The coronavirus outbreak is an unprecedented crisis which affects all of us across the globe. We care deeply about our customers and the communities we serve, and, at KONE, we are taking extra precautions to help protect our people and our customers’ businesses.
We take our role seriously in keeping society running and we are taking actions to provide ongoing, trusted service and support to our customers and to keep people moving safely, while working closely with local governments and health authorities.
Here is what we are doing; we have measures in place to help keep our customers’ facilities and equipment safe to use, with an additional focus on hygiene in maintenance and installation work. Our personnel have personal protection equipment and are following special instructions. Our dedicated teams of service technicians have a vital role in making sure our customers can keep people moving, including maintaining equipment in critical environments, such as hospitals.
KONE’s local teams are here to help, and please contact your local KONE representative with any specific concerns or service needs. Agents are available 24/7 to assist and promptly dispatch technicians. Please note that in order to ensure our technicians are prepared and have the appropriate personal protection equipment when entering your facility our agents will be asking if you can tell us if anyone in your facility has tested positive for coronavirus and if your facility is currently under any infectious disease protocol.
Our thoughts are with anyone who may be affected by this epidemic, which touches nearly every aspect of our lives. We are thankful for the brave work from our service technicians across our Middle East and Africa region. doing our best to keep the riding public safe in these uncertain times.
While we work to keep people moving safely in buildings during this unprecedented event, it is important to us that we express our appreciation for the healthcare workers, local communities, and governments around the world who are on the frontline, working to contain this virus. KONE encourages everyone to take all precautions to stay safe and healthy during this time. We will continue to evaluate measures that best support you and our teams as the situation develops. As always, our local teams remain available, engaged and ready to support you.
